A MAN has been given a suspended prison sentence of 18 weeks for assault by beating.
James Buick-Anderson, 32, of Church Street, Woodford Halse, Daventry, was sentenced at Taunton Magistrates' Court on March 10.
He was also asked to pay £100 in compensation, £128 victim surcharge and £85 in costs for the assault last May.
On the same day, Buick-Anderson also had 0.4g of cannabis. For this, he was not given a separate penalty.
He pleaded guilty to both offences.
On March 10, another man was also in court for two counts of assault by beating.
Andis Davidsons, 39, of no fixed address, has to pay £100 in compensation, a £95 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
He was also given a community order, and a restraining order against those involved in the incident.
He pleaded guilty to the offences.
Ryan Michael Woodhams, 36, of no fixed address, was also sentenced at Taunton Magistrates' Court for drunk and disorderly behaviour.
The incident happened in Blake Place, Bridgwater in January.
Woodhams has to pay a £60 fine and a £34 victim surcharge.
He pleaded guilty to the offence.
