A TAUNTON restaurant has warned its customers after they were sent bogus messages by scammers.
The Skewer House posted on its Facebook page details of the scammers imitating an actual competition the Bridge Street eaterie is running.
The fake post read: "Congratulation!!! You have won food for 2 to collect Thursday.
"Put your name on my official site in my main post before stating that your opportunity has expired.
"Hurry up, bet your prize now.
"Answer (READY) when you are ready.
"We choose a random winner starting today. Good luck."
A number of people say they have reported the post to Facebook.
One person said: "Happened to me too this morning.
"I questioned them about having to register and give them my bank card details, they kept pestering me to sign up on the link.
"Thank goodness I didn’t."
The Skewer House, a Portuguese restaurant, has urged customers not to accept any friend requests from the hackers or to click on any messages they send.
It posted on Facebook: "I can only apologise."
It is the second time hackers have created a Facebook account using the restaurant's name, photos and sharing its posts.
Its sister restaurant Nobregas, in Bath Place, has also been hacked in a similar way.
