THERE were just 17 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in the latest 24-hour period.
Of those, 10 were in South Somerset, which has seen 5,166 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
Somerset West and Taunton had one new confirmed case, taking its overall total to 5,487.
There were four positive tests in Sedgemoor, where there have been a total of 5,130 confirmed cases.
And the two positive tests in Mendip see its overall total rise to 3,357.
That means the county council area has had 19,500 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
The latest rates of infection in each district based on the latest rolling seven-day figures are 54.6 per 100,000 people in South Somerset (up from 58.8 the previous day); 13.5 in SWT (no change); 30 in Sedgemoor (down from 32.5); and 50.2 in Mendip (down from 53.6).
The total of deaths in each district remain at 148 in South Somerset; 201 in SWT; 153 in Sedgemoor; and 161 in Mendip.
