LOCKDOWN haircuts - or hair growth - will be a thing of the past when hairdressers and beauty salons re-open, which is due to happen from Monday, April 12 (stage two of the 'roadmap' out of lockdown).
A sense of relief for many, except those who are dreading the return of haircut small talk.
But if chatting about your holiday plans with a stranger is your idea of hell, then a Somerset-based hairdressers might have just the thing for you.
Vital, which is situated on Corporation Street, Taunton, has come up with a new 'silent' service.
Nick Martin, Vital's director and founder, said: "No longer will you have to bury your head in a magazine to try and stave off small talk, or wait patiently for the conversation to tail off.
"We promise to give our guest some much-needed 'quiet time'.
"If you ask for a ‘silent’ cut or colour when you book an appointment, the only chatting you will engage in is your consultation to discuss what you're looking for with your new hair do."
Martin added: "We believe in being a ‘non judgment’ company, so we needed to consider all our clients' needs.
"With mental health issues on the rise, feeling comfortable to say when you need time out couldn’t be more important.
"When booking your appointment, ask for a silent service, or select this option when making your booking online.
"No judgement from us."
