A MOTORIST caught behind the wheel three times while disqualified and suspected of drink or drug driving has been jailed for 26 weeks.
Stuart Andrew Cuthbertson, 36, of Warren Bay, Watchet, was caught driving while banned in Salisbury on New Year's Eve 2019; Warminster, on September 6, 2020; and in Williton on March 15 this year.
Cutherbertson, who pleaded guilty to the three offences, was given two eight-week concurrent prison sentences and a 10-week consecutive term.
He received no separate penalty for three offences of driving without insurance on all three occasions.
Cuthbertson also pleading guilty to failing to undertake a breath test when suspected of having committed an offence while driving, for which he was jailed for 16 weeks. He was also banned from driving for five years and three months and ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
A DRIVER in court for four motoring offences has been his with a £1,250 court bill.
Christopher Michael Baker, 33, of High Street, Glastonbury, drove off when police tried to stop him in his transit van on Raynalds Way, Street, on August 10 last year.
He was fined £138 along with a £34 victim surcharge and £375 costs after pleading not guilty to the offence when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court last week.
At the same hearing, he received a further £138 fine after being found guilty of driving a vehicle with a "completely shredded" from tyre that was likely to cause danger to passengers or anyone on the road.
He was given a fine for a similar amount after being found guilty of driving without due care and attention, which he had also denied.
And for driving without insurance he was fined £207 and given eight penalty points.
After his arrest the same day (August 10), Baker caused £120 damage to a police cell, for which the court ordered him to pay £120 compensation after he admitted the offence.
He also admitted breaching a suspended sentence imposed for possession of ketamine, assault and possession of an offensive weapon, for which he was fined £100.
A DRINK driver who failed to stop after hitting another vehicle has been banned form the road for two years.
Gaynor Melissa Hiller, 50, of Lambrook Road, Taunton, pleaded guilty to driving off after causing damage to the other vehicle in Hamilton Road on June 21 last year.
Hillier also admitted drink driving on the same day.
She was fined £350 for the latter offence, along with a £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs. She was given a 24-month driving ban.
She received no separate penalty for the first offence.
