SOMERSET recorded a total of 40 positive Covid-19 tests in the latest 24-hour figures.
Of those, 18 were in South Somerset, where the total number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic rises to 5,248.
Somerset West and Taunton had two new confirmed cases (total 5,872).
Sedgemoor saw 17 positive tests (total 5,205).
And Mendip had three (total 3,379).
The rates of infection calculated with the latest seven-day rolling figures are:
South Somerset 46.3 people per 100,000 of population (down from 53.5 the previous day);
SWT 22.6 (down from 23.9);
Sedgemoor 46.3 (down from 42.2);
Mendip 18.2 (down from 19.9).
There were no deaths recorded in the county council area - the toll in each district is South Somerset 149; SWT 201; Sedgemoor 154; Mendip 160 (adjusted downwards from the previous day).
