THE number of positive Covid-19 tests has fallen again over the latest 24-hour period.
The county council area recorded 34 new confirmed cases in a day.
Of those, 14 were in South Somerset, which has seen 5,262 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
Somerset West and Taunton had eight positive tests, takings its overall total to 5,880.
In Sedgemoor there were nine new confirmed cases (overall total 5,214).
And Mendip had three positive tests (total 3,382).
The infection rates per 100,000 of population based on the latest seven-day rolling figures are;
- 41.6 per 100,000 in South Somerset (down from 46.3 the previous day);
- 20.6 in SWT (down from 22.6);
- 46.3 in Sedgemoor (unchanged);
- 15.6 in Mendip (down from 18.2).
There were no Covid-related deaths within 28 days of a positive test in the county.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic remains at South Somerset 149; 201 in SWT; 154 in Sedgemoor; and 160 in Mendip.
