THIRTY-NINE new trees have been planted at Nynehead Court Estate in Wellington.
Walkers were outraged after the trees were cut down along the footpath - but Nynehead Court said they were always planning to replace them.

The native British trees that have been planted are a combination of beech, hawthorn, hazel, holm oak, rowan, small leaved lime, silver birch, sweet chestnut and wild cherry.
"We were planning to plant new trees as part of our ongoing estate management, and this week we have done so," said a spokesperson for Nynehead Court.
"They are located on the North-Eastern side of the site, near the public footpath, and replace the trees which had to be removed recently.
"The new additions are already attracting admiration from passers-by using the footpath."
Resident's nearby are deeply upset about the tree removal - especially as there are reports Nynehead Court are planning to submit an application to build units there.

A spokesperson for the estate has said there have been “extensive consultations” since the initial planning application for units at Court Farm Gardens and they are hoping to submit “revised” plans in the near future - which will include the entire Nynehead Court Estate.
