A SCHOOL campus in Taunton has been closed today (Friday) due to Covid.
Selworthy School’s Oakhill site, in Selworthy Road, was shut following advice from public health bosses.
The school is organising home learning programmes to support the pupils, who have been told to self isolate.
Ian Robinson, chief executive of the Oak Partnership Trust, of which Selworthy School is a member, said: "These continue to be hugely challenging times.
"Our schools have been open to learners throughout the Covid pandemic.
"Staff have worked incredibly hard supporting learners and it is always frustrating when we have to advise staff and learners to isolate.
"Our number one priority is always the health and safety of staff and learners and minimising the spread of the virus within our school communities.
"As with all previous cases across The Oak Partnership Trust, we seek and follow the advice given by Public Health.
"Whilst closures are frustrating, we have had widespread support from our school communities when we have had to make these difficult decisions.
"I take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank, all those within our school communities: staff, learners and families, for the way in which they have responded throughout this most challenging twelve months."
