According to the latest Government figures, the four districts in the county council area are high up the list of highest proportion of people in England in that age range to have been vaccinated.
The figures for over 50s receiving their first vaccine up to March 21 are:
- South Somerset, 73,665 people (93.3 per cent of over 50s);
- Somerset West and Taunton, 67,033 (91.7 per cent);
- Sedgemoor, 50,592 (89.9 per cent);
- Mendip, 48.403 (91.7).
The figures are based on provisional data from NHS England.
