ONE of the districts in Somerset had just one positive Covid-19 test in the latest 24-hour period - for the second consecutive day.
Mendip, where the test was confirmed, has now had an overall total of 3,404 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
South Somerset had 16 new confirmed cases in the latest 24 hours, taking its overall total to 5,343 confirmed cases.
There were four positive tests in Somerset West and Taunton, which has now had a total of 5,902 confirmed cases.
There were two new confirmed cases in Sedgemoor, for an overall total of 5,264.
The rate of infection based on the latest seven-day rolling figures are:
South Somerset 51.1 people per 100,000 of population (down from 52.9 the previous day);
SWT 16.8 (up from 14.8);
Sedgemoor 74.7 (no change);
Mendip 24.2 (up from 21.6).
There were no Covid-related deaths in the county council area in the latest 24-hour period.
