POLICE are appealing for information after a teenage girl was assaulted in Taunton.
The 15-year-old girl was walking along Creechbarrow Road, close to the pedestrian crossing near Asda between 6.40pm and 6.50pm on Tuesday, March 16.
The victim was approached by a woman who assaulted her. The woman punched the girl in the face three times, giving her a swollen lip.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "The suspect is described as a white woman, in her 40s, around 5ft 4ins tall, with black hair in a ponytail.
"She was wearing a black top, black trousers and carrying a black jacket and a Lidl bag.
"If you can help, call 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5221056334."
