THE cause of a fire in a Wellington home this evening (Friday) is being investigated.
Two fire engines from the town were sent to the incident in Mills Drive at 5.45pm following a number of calls from the public.
On their arrival, it was confirmed that the bedroom of the house was well alight and a further fire engine and aerial ladder platform was sent from Taunton.
The occupants of the house managed to escape the blaze unharmed.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews got to work to tackle the fire using breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet, thermal imaging cameras and a safety jet.
"The fire, which spread to the bathroom, caused 100 per cent damage to the bedroom and considerable smoke damage to the first floor of the property.
"The cause of the fire is currently unknown."
