THERE have been just 12 new Covid-19 cases in Somerset in the past 24-hours - and the rate of infection is falling in all four districts.
Both Somerset West and Taunton and Sedgemoor had five new cases, bringing the totals in each district since the start of the pandemic to 5,928 and 5,311.
South Somerset had just two new cases, bringing the total to 5,393. And Mendip had no new cases, meaning the total stays at 3,418.
The rates of infection based on the latest seven-day rolling figures are 62.4 per 100,000 in South Somerset (down from 63); 19.3 in Somerset West and Taunton (down from 22.6); 51.1 in Sedgemoor (down from 53.6) and 23.4 in Mendip (down from 27.7).
