AN arts festival is set to return this September.

Arts and performers still have time to register for the 10 Parishes Festival, which will take place in Wiveliscombe and the surrounding villages.

The event, which takes place ever other year, has been running since 2003.

Victoria Ward, who is set to return to Wiveliscombe Community Centre in a joint exhibition of recent work, said: "This past year has given me lots of lovely time to paint."

Performances during the festival include The Kanneh-Masons who will bring their talent to St Andrew's Church in Wiveliscombe on Friday, September 17, thanks to Milverton Concert Society.

The festival is organised by a group of volunteers led by Pauline Homeshaw, entirely for the benefit of the community.

"It is such a coup for us to secure such a prestigious group," she said.

"It delivers such a positive statement that live performance will once again reverberate through our community.”

Usually there are more than 100 events, covering paintings, drawing, sculpture, jewellery, pottery, poetry, theatre, music, film, circus and much more.

In 2012, the festival was taken under the wing of The Wiveliscombe Area Partnership charity, which provides a number of services to the community.
