THOMAS the Tank Engine and friends stopped by West Somerset a decade ago to visit excited families.
More than 4,000 people enjoyed ‘A Day Out with Thomas’ on the West Somerset Railway in July 2011.
Thomas gave young fans a ride from Minehead station while other tank engines from the children’s book written by author Rev. Wilbert Awdry came to the platform.
Engines Henry and Gordon hauled trains between Bishops Lydeard.
The Railway’s general manager, Paul Conibeare, said the even was successful.
He said: “It was hard work for all the staff, but it not only has a big impact on us, it’s great for the local town and economy as well – it’s a good example of how the railway has a positive impact on local trade.”
