A MEMBER of Norton Manor Camp-based 40 Commando Royal Marines has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Warrant Officer Kieran Roe has been awarded the MBE.
The accolade is for his work tackling health issues and as a diversity and inclusion race advocate.
WO Roe joined the Royal Marines in 1990 and was part of 42 Commando anti-tank troop support company before joining 40 Commando in 1995 in a similar capacity.
He later transferred to 45 Commando anti-tank troop support company before returning to 40 Commando Headquarters.
He has enjoyed various other roles in the Royal Marines and his tours of duty have included Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Bosnia.
