A GROUP of friends will be slipping on their hiking boots next weekend in aid of a cancer charity.
The Somerset Stompers are taking part in Macmillan Cancer Support's Mighty Hike - a 26-mile trek in the Lake District, on Saturday, June 19.
Funeralcare director Hannah Lane and her friends Ross, Sam, Pete, Nathan and Lauren, will be hiking through the rugged felled mountains and around racial ribbon lakes in memory of, in particular, Hannah’s former colleague who sadly passed this year.
Hannah said: "In my role as a funeral director, I support so many devastated families who have lost a loved one to cancer so we’re looking forward to the challenge.
"Macmillan supports so many people and their families yearly and is a charity which is extremely close to our hearts.
"At Co-op Funeralcare, Bath we sadly lost one of our ex-colleagues this year to a cruel illness. This colleague is extremely missed and will be in my thoughts and heart throughout the walk.”
