A BUSY road on the outskirts of Taunton was closed for 90 minutes this morning (Tuesday), while trains were halted to and from the rail station.
Police say the closure of Silk Mills was sparked by concerns for a man's welfare.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Emergency services attended Silk Mills Bridge in Taunton at 5.25am this morning after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man.
“The man is now in the care of the health service.
“The road was closed for approximately 90 minutes while we responded.”
Train services were disrupted during the incident, although National Rail says services are returning to normal now.
