ELEVEN was a significant number for one of the teams in last week’s charity golf day organised by Taunton Vale Rotary Club.
Regional surveyors Symonds and Sampson sponsored the 11th hole and entered a team in the event at Oake Manor Golf Club.
Their team ended the day in 11th place with a score of 111.
They had been due to tee off at 10.04am, but one team member was a few minutes late and yes, they started at 10.11am instead.
Team captain Phil Greenway, who has just taken over as president of Taunton Vale Rotary Club, said: “The event was fantastic, the weather was kind and the turnout of teams excellent after the Covid restrictions we have had to endure.
"Next year my company will be looking to sponsor the first hole but we’ll have to get there in time to start on pole and maybe improve our golf just a bit to finish first.
“For one final elevenincidence – our golf day was held 11 weeks before Taunton Vale Rotary’s next major fundraising event, Moonraker on October 2."
You can find details HERE - but don’t leave it until the 11th hour to enter.
The golf day made a profit of nearly £5,000, which will be spent helping local and national charities.
