A SECTION of a busy road in Taunton will close for around a year from next month.
The A38 Bridgwater Road north of the Toneway at Creech Castle will be closed to traffic from Monday, August 9.
The closure is due to work starting that day to upgrade the Creech Castle junction.
A Somerset County Council spokesperson said: "We are set to begin our Toneway Creech Castle Junction upgrade on 9th August.
"This will mean the A38 Bridgwater Road (north of the junction) will be closing for the duration of the scheme."
The major road improvement scheme, which was postponed last year due to the Covid pandemic, is due for completion at some stage next summer (2022).
The planned works to improve the Creech Castle junction.
The work, which is part of the £19million revamp of the M5 Junction 25, will lead to severe traffic disruption.
