A POPULAR annual Christmas shopping event in Somerset has been cancelled.
Organisers of Dunster by Candelight have announced today (July 27) that the 2021 event has been cancelled for the second year running.
This is due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the 'uncertainty' surrounding it.
A spokesperson for Dunster by Candlelight said: "Although this is mainly and outside event, most of the shops in the village are small and not ideal for large numbers of people.
"As there is still so much uncertainty with the situation with Covid-19, the committee decided not to go ahead this year.
"We hope you will continue to follow us and we will see you in 2022."
However, Dunster by Candelight is set to go ahead next year.
It will be on Friday, December 2, from 5pm until 9pm, and Saturday, December 3, from 4pm until 9pm.
