A ROOKIE motorist made the mistake of overtaking an unmarked police car - at 131mph.
Once officers caught up with the offender in the early hours of this morning (Monday), they were stopped.
The car was being driven on the M5 northbound.
The driver only passed their test a year ago.
A tweet from Avon and Somerset Roads Policing said: "1am #M5 northbound, driver overtakes our unmarked vehicle at excess speed: Top speed recorded 131mph.
"Stopped, driver only had their licence for 1 yr!
"Straight to court, licence revoked as only allowed 6 points in first 2 years.
"Likely to be disqualified & a large fine."
