THE Mayor of Bridgwater will oversee the official opening of St Margaret's Hospice Care's second funeral home next week.
The new home is in Eastover and will be officially opened on Tuesday (September 14).
Following the official launch, members of the public can attend between noon and and 4pm, when there will be a chance to look around, meet the team and enjoy a cup of tea.
The funeral home was opened last November, but due to the Covid-19 restrictions the funeral team have not been able to invite the local community in to meet them.
The building is the second funeral home set up by St Margaret’s Hospice Care as an extension of the care and compassion it gives to people across Somerset.
St Margaret’s Funerals has had a funeral home in Bridge Street, Taunton, since January 2018.
The service provides funerals for anyone in the community, while supporting St Margaret’s Hospice Care.
Julie Lacey, heads up the team consisting of funeral administrator Terena Gill and assistant funeral director Chris Jones, who are both local to the Bridgwater area.
Ms Lacey said: “We are delighted to be offering our services to the Bridgwater community.
"We are looking forward to meeting people and explaining that an individual and unique funeral does not have to be expensive.
"I believe that the dedication and personal touches that our professional team bring to every funeral make it special to every family that we care for.
"Understanding the needs of our families is important to us and it is our passion to make the funeral arrangements as easy as possible at such a distressing time."
