AN annual cycling event took place in Kingston St Mary on Sunday (September 19).
The family fun cycle ride, organised by Kingston Area Pedestrian and Cycle Campaign (KAPACC), is a ride around the lanes of Kingston, Nailsbourne, Pickney and Yarford.
The riders could choose to ride either five or 10 miles, and the route was suitable for groups and single riders.
This year, there were around 40 riders aged between five and 75 years old.
“Everyone enjoyed their cycle ride along the quiet lanes,” said a spokesperson for KAPACC.
“It allows parents to teach their children aspects of road safety.
“We hope by organising this ride, we will encourage more people to hop on their bikes, because cycling is healthy and good for the environment. The more safer cycling opportunities there are, the more people are willing to cycle.”
