SOMERSET'S best campsites will appear in a new Channel 4 TV show, The Perfect Pitch, next week.
The show, which started in September, aims to bring viewers the ultimate guide to the best campsites Britain has to offer and help them plan their future staycations.
The Perfect Pitch takes camping enthusiasts to a region's best campsites where they enjoy the best on and off-site activities and attractions.
Across five episodes next week, the show will follow six campers as they Batcombe Vale, Netwood Farm, Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park, Petruth Paddocks and Burton Springs.
The three pairs of campers, Sam and Molly, Val and Moonie, and the Orams, will take in sights including Glastonbury Tor, the historic city of Wells, Cheddar Gorge, the Mendip Hills and West Somerset Heritage Railway.
They will, of course, sample some local cheese and cider along the way.
Go-karting, rowing, sailing and enjoying a pottery class are other items on their Somerset itinerary.
At the end of the week, one of the campsites will be awarded The Perfect Pitch's regional title.
So far, the show has visited the Lake District and the Jurassic Coast.
In the episodes based at the nearby Jurassic Coast in Dorset and Devon - which aired this week - three different sets of campers visited Charmouth Beach to go fossil hunting, experienced sailing at Weymouth Harbour, and took on an assault course in Sidmouth.
The Perfect Pitch's Somerset shows will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 5:30pm on every weekday next week.
