MASTERCHEF critic and Telegraph food writer William Sitwell has turned the tables serving food at his newly-launched supper club in Wiveliscombe, West Somerset.
He has converted the cow shed at his new family home in Brompton Ralph into a professional kitchen, William's bar and an adjoining dining room.
However he explained it is not a standard restaurant.
"We have a single table that seats 62 people.
"I call it Somerset's longest table! If anyone has a longer table, I'm all ears," Sitwell said.
He revealed that during his career he has made friendships with a number of chefs, and is looking at getting them to come and cook at his new restaurant.
"I have run my supper club for many years at our previous home in Northamptonshire and at various locations in London, including OKA and most recently the upmarket department store Fortnum & Mason.
"Now I'm excited to be launching in Somerset, where you'll see great names and sensational food," he said.
"Somerset has the best ingredients in the country and we are lucky enough to have them on our doorstep; from local organic Longhorn beef from Westcott Organics, to seafood from Teignmouth.
"Month in, month out we'll celebrate fantastic food in a fabulous location."
Renowned chefs who have previously cooked at the Sitwell Supper Club include: Aldo Zilli, Richard Corrigan, Mark Hix, Marianne Lumb as well as MasterChef finalists Olivia Burt, Billy and Jack and Three Girls Cook.
The great chef Rowley Leigh will be preparing a festive feast in December and Atul Kochhar and Valentine Warner will be visiting in the New Year.
Upcoming dinner events at Somerset's Longest Table include:
Rowley Leigh's Festive Feast - December 11 (Sold Out)
Seafood Special by Tim Zekki - January 15
Game feast by Tom Godber-Moore - February 4
Indian Banquet by Atul Kocchar - February 25
