A PRIMARY school has won £1,000 worth of paint which will be used to refurbish the premises.
Trull Church of England VA Primary School was chosen by Sheelagh Leigh-Ewers when she was asked by Dulux to nominate a project in her community that could do with a coat of paint.
She nominated the school as it is attended by her grandchildren.
Mrs Leigh-Ewers said: “I’ve always believed a child’s first experience of education is crucial, that a good experience at their primary school sets them along a good path for the rest of their life.
“The head teacher Karen Wedlake leads a great team at the school who have worked even harder this year.
“Trull School is one of the lowest funded schools in the South West and are without a caretaker at the moment so Karen’s husband has paid for all sorts of things himself and has come in to do various projects.
“Our two grandchildren Lauren and Finlay Stockton have had a great experience at Trull and the school deserves the support, the boost, this would deliver - they have so many spaces which need painting and would be absolutely thrilled if they won.”
Headteacher Karen Wedlake said: “We are over the moon to have won and to get these wonderful paints! Thank you to Dulux.”
