A MAN from Henstridge, South Somerset, has been banned from driving for a year and fined after pleading guilty to driving while over the legal limit for alcohol.
South East Wiltshire Magistrates' Court heard that Mark Liam Maguire, of Furge Grove, drove a Seat Ibiza car in Tellisford Lane, Norton St Philip, while over the legal limit for alcohol on Friday, January 14, 2022.
The proportion of alcohol in his breath measured 65 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal alcohol limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
Maguire, 32, was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months by the magistrates' court yesterday (Tuesday, February 1).
He was also fined £233 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, giving him a total bill of £352.
Court documents say his guilty plea was taken into account when his sentence was imposed.
