POLICE in Somerset arrested two people suspected of preparing to commit thefts - following a tip off from officers in Sussex.
Officers from Avon and Somerset Police's roads policing unit deployed to a vehicle suspected of being involved in stealing catalytic converters.
The vehicle was stopped in Weston-super-Mare on Tuesday (February 8) and its two occupants were arrested after items such as false number plates and a cutter were discovered.
A roads policing unit spokesperson said: "Alerted by Sussex Police, our units deployed to a vehicle involved in cat converter thefts.
"Vehicle caused to stop in Weston-super-Mare and both occupants arrested for 'Going Equipped for Theft' due to items in the car including false plates and cutter."
