LAST Saturday siblings Lexie and Cameron Wallace both played in senior matches for Taunton Vale Hockey Club, writes Richard Walsh.
While Cam has already played in a handful of matches this was sister’s debut for the Ladies section.
Lexie’s game was first and against Exe 4ths, playing up front she made quite an impression scoring two goals in the 6-1 victory, including one well struck volley into the top of the goal.
In the next match her brother was facing tough opposition from Bridgwater, at the end of which it was Vale who won hard fought match 4-3 win with Cam getting two assists.
Both Lexie and Cam have been active members of the junior section at Taunton Vale Hockey Club, attending weekly training and playing in festivals and competitions as they moved from U10s up through to U16s where they both currently play.
Part of the club’s ethos is to encourage junior players to join the senior teams once they have turned 13 which is a great way to develop the club and all of its players.
