SOMERSET County Council has announced a number of road closures caused by Storm Eunice.
As of 1.14pm today (Friday, February 18) the following road announcements have been made by County Hall.
- A358 Taunton to Williton closed both ways due to fallen trees. Crews in attendance. It is understood this is now passable with care (1.14pm).
- M5 Northbound closed between J22 and J23.
- A39 Bawdrip passable but slow – trees down, crews in attendance.
- A3066 – Misterton to North Perrott blocked.
- A358 Sampford Brett blocked.
- A396 Wheddon Cross to Timberscombe.
- A39 Minehead to Porlock blocked – this is outside Eastleigh Care Homes top of Park House Road.
- Church Road Sparkford blocked.
- Brooks Road Street.
- Traffic lights out : A39 / Puriton Hill Long Load Shuttle A361 Green Ore East Brent.
A council spokesperson said: "Our crews are working on a priority basis – throughout day a number of roads could be closed until we can attend.
"We’ll do our best to keep everyone updated – this is a fast-moving situation so we may not be able to confirm closures/re-openings as quickly as we’d like. Please bear with us."
The council also says gales have brought down 100 trees in Somerset, while two walls have collapsed.
