UPDATE: Traffic is now moving and the incident has been cleared.
TRAFFIC is at a standstill on the M5 motorway after an incident between junction 24 and 25 this evening (February 19).
Emergency services are at the scene on the southbound carriageway near Taunton.
A spokesperson for Travel Somerset said: "Slow traffic due to accident between junction 24 and junction 25 (Taunton).
"Matrix sign set to 50mph."
A spokesperson for National Highways South West added: "Traffic has been STOPPED on the #M5 southbound in #Somerset between J24 (#Bridgwater) and J25 (#Taunton) due to a collision involving a car which has struck the central reservation.
"Emergency services are in attendance."
