A TAUNTON home was badly smoke damaged in a fire yesterday evening (Friday, March 4).
Firefighters from the town were sent to the incident in Comeytrowe shortly after 6.30pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Crews from Taunton attended a fire in a domestic property in the Comeytrowe area of Taunton.
"The fire was located in the kitchen-diner of the property and was extinguished using four breathing apparatus, one attack jet, one hose reel jet, two safety jets a thermal imaging camera, and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
"The room sustained 50 per cent fire damage and the ground floor suffered 100 per cent smoke damage. The cause of the fire was accidental."
