A SOMERSET MP is suffering plenty of pain today (Sunday, March 6) after crashing to the ground.
David Warburton, who represents Somerton and Frome, broke three ribs after falling down stairs.
He has been treated by NHS staff at St Thomas' Hospital, in London.
Conservative Mr Warburton, who enjoyed a 19,213 majority at the last General Election in 2019, took to Twitter to inform constituents of his accident.
He posted: "So it turns out that falling down these stairs and breaking three ribs kinda hurts.
"What an idiot.
"But thank you to the superb A&E staff at St Thomas' Hospital for - literally - coming to my aid."
Mr Warburton prided himself on his fitness after shedding eight stone.
He told the County Gazette in January last year that he lost weight working out on a running machines and pumping iron - and drinking gin.
