GIRLS rugby is gathering momentum at King’s College, and on rainy afternoon, they hosted seven-a-side rugby with teams from Wellington School, Millfield, South Gloucestershire & Stroud College, Exeter College, Weston College and Richard Huish, writes Richard Walsh.
Over 70 girls took part with the teams being divided into two pools. At the end of a hugely successful and enjoyable afternoon of rugby, Exeter won the final with Wellington winning the plate and King’s won the shield.
King’s will be hosting another girls rugby sevens on 16 March before taking part in the Rosslyn Park Sevens at the end of the month.
Ed Lewsey, the Head of Rugby at King’s said: “This was a great afternoon of girls rugby.
"It provided an opportunity for some of those who have hardly played the game to learn from others who play at quite a high level.”
