POLICE are investigating a road rage attack in which the victim suffered facial injuries.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam footage following the assault.
The victim, a 56-year-old man, was in his car when he was attacked by another man with a solid metal object.
He suffered a broken nose and a damaged eye socket.
The incident happened at the Lydford-on-Fosse crossroads where the A37 meets the B5153 at about 4.50pm on Saturday (March 5).
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said the offender is described as white, around his mid-thirties to mid-forties, about 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build and with a shaven head.
He was driving a silver BMW 3 series.
The spokesperson added: "If you saw any part of this incident, or can help provide dash cam footage, please contact us.
