A YOUTUBER with 140,000 subscribers has joined ToneFM as a Sunday show presenter.

Colin Dobson-Fox and his partner Shaun gained an online following after selling their house, leaving their jobs, and moving into a 57-foot narrowboat called Silver Fox in 2018.

They explored the UK's network of canals and rivers with their dog Otis and shared their adventures on their YouTube channel, Foxes Afloat.

A few months ago, they decided to leave the narrowboat behind, with former Trax FM, Rother FM, and Radio Aire presenter Colin choosing to return to radio through livestreams.

ToneFM station director Patch Jobson was among Colin's livestream listeners, and he offered him the chance to host his own show on Taunton’s 107.8 ToneFM.

Colin accepted Patch's offer and will host his brand-new show, The Sunday Supplement, for the first time on Sunday, April 10 from 2-4pm.

“Local radio has been my greatest love since I first first got involved as a teenager,” said Colin

“Producing and presenting community based, engaging, and entertaining programming is just so enjoyable.

“I can’t wait to get behind the microphone at ToneFM and get to know the people of Taunton.”

Patch added: “We’re really looking forward to Colin joining the team.

“Not only does he know a thing or two about travel, food and the odd canal, he’s also a superb broadcaster who is without doubt going to take our listeners on many adventures.

“As the show develops, it really will become the perfect partner for Sunday afternoons, and who knows there may even be the odd appearance from the real star of the show, Otis!”

Listeners within ToneFM's Total Survey Area will be able to tune in on 107.8fm.

Other listeners can listen on tonefm.com, on the ToneFM app, through TuneIn or RadioPlayer, or by asking their smart speaker to Play ToneFM.
