A WOMAN dyed her hair blue, inspired by the colours of the Ukrainian flag, in a show of solidarity with the country.
Maggie Boulton, 78, from Wellington, said she did so to support “the Ukrainian families fighting and fleeing the awful war”.
She said: “The flag of Ukraine is yellow and blue, I couldn’t do half yellow and half blue, so I decided to dye my hair blue to show my support.
“I am that sort of person, I also have a Ukrainian flag in the window. It is something I really wanted to do. I went to the shop, bought the colour, and here we are.”
Janet Norton, Maggie’s sister-in-law, said she was “proud of her”.
She added: “When I knew about it, I just thought it needs courage to do that and do your hair that colour.
“I am so proud she is supporting them and doing her bit.”
