POLICE are investigating this "own goal" by a driver in a Somerset town.
The stolen car was seen to flip onto its side, where it remained.
One of the two occupants managed to get out and run off after the incident in Yeovil on Friday night (March 11).
In the process, the escapee slammed the hand of the other person in the car door.
That second person was trapped until the police arrived on the scene
A Tweet from Avon and Somerset Police's road policing unit said: "An own goal by the driver of this stolen vehicle in Yeovil on Friday night.
"Not pursued, just ran out of talent and flipped.
"Occupant 1 made good their escape, slamming hand of Occupant 2 in the car door!
"Trapped upon (police) arrival.
"Ouch. One in custody, enquiries ongoing."
