A LANGPORT man has been ordered to pay compensation to two people he attacked in a McDonald's restaurant days before Christmas.
Simon Alister Herbert, 48, of Bow Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court this week.
He launched the attacks in the McDonald's in Bell Lane, Uckfield, East Sussex, on December 21 last year.
Herbert was ordered by the court to pay £100 compensations to both of his victims.
He must also pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
And he must adhere to a community order, including being prohibited from drinking alcohol for 100 days.
The two offences were in breach of a suspended sentence imposed on him last June for assault by beating and drink driving. The breach saw him given a £480 fine.
