MASTERCHEF judge and food critic Jay Rayner brings his 'My Last Supper: One meal, a lifetime in the making' show to Queen’s College, Taunton.
The event on Wednesday, May 18, is a companion piece to his book of the same title.
'Imagine you are about to die. You have one meal left. What are you going to have?' That's the question the award-winning restaurant critic and writer has been asked most often by audiences across the UK.
As well as being a judge on BBC’s MasterChef, Jay Rayner has been a presenter of BBC Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet, and feature food writer and restaurant critic for the Observer.
At his one man show, Rayner dives into the fascination of his audience with final meals and tells the stories behind the ingredients that would make up his own 'last supper' menu.
Jay said: "Why are we all so interested in the question of what last meal we’d like to enjoy before we die?
"Morbid fascination, human nature or a way to tell the story of our lives in a nutshell?"
Somerset is famed for dairy and arable farming, with Taunton itself being synonymous with cider making.
And Jay Rayner is sure to ask the audience at Queen's to design their own 'last supper' meals.

Jay Rayner will also be running a special masterclass for students at Queen’s on his visit to Taunton where the English and food and nutrition departments are working on a cross-curriculum experience for their students.
