AFTER the success of their last production, ‘Schools will rock you’, like everywhere else in the country, Danesfield were forced to halt all performances until restrictions were eased.
Last week, Danesfield students returned to the stage with their production of “The Addams Family musical”.
Miss Attwood, the school’s head of Performing Arts and musical director for the show, was staggered by the standard of performance.
She said: “I am so proud of our cast for this show for taking on an incredibly complex variety of songs and characters to bring this story to the stage. Their commitment and enthusiasm has been outstanding and it has been a joy to work with such talented students.”
Mr Pearce, the director and choreographer, added: “It’s such a relief that the show went off without any hitches, when so many productions in the recent past have been blighted by Covid.
“For so many students, it has been their first production on stage, with some of the principles having previously taken part in the school choir now taking their place centre stage. I really hope this will be the start of many long careers in the theatre for our students and we look forward to the next show – watch this space.”
They also thanked all the staff and governing body for their support behind the scenes to make the show such a success.
