A SECTION of a main road in the north of Taunton was closed as police dealt with an incident last night (Wednesday, March 16).
A number of police vehicles were despatched to Kingston Road just north of the junction with Greenway Road at around 9.20pm.
Officers discovered a damaged car blocking the road, while a number of other vehicles parked along the side of the road were also damaged.
Officers arrested a man aged 28 on suspicion of driving while unfit due to alcohol.
Police investigations are ongoing and officers are appealing for witnesses.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We were called at approximately 9.20pm last night (Wednesday 16 March) to a road related incident in the Kingston Road area of Taunton.
“Officers attended and found a damaged car blocking the road, plus a number of other parked vehicles with damage.
“A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit due to alcohol consumption.
“Enquiries into the incident continue.
"Any witnesses should call 101 and give reference number 5222063508.”
