SECURITY has been increased at a park and ride on the edge of Taunton after several travellers moved onto the site over the weekend.
Reports suggest 11 vehicles were parked up on the outer perimeter at Silk Mills from Sunday afternoon (March 20).
Security staff have been deployed to the site throughout the day and night to check on vehicles using the car park.
Police and council officers have also visited.
Legal moves are being taken to force the travellers to move on.
A Somerset County Council spokesperson said: "On Sunday a number of vehicles entered the site and parked on the outer perimeter.
"All services are unaffected and will continue to run as normal and we have deployed a security service on site 24/7 to reassure staff and the public and oversee vehicles using the car park until the matter is resolved.
"Enforcement measures are underway and welfare checks have been carried out by our team and police officers. We understand two vehicles left the site yesterday."
