A call for promises was put out last week, and there are a range of offers from babysitting to three nights in a chalet in Lyme Regis.
Kathryn Robinson Burge, Halse Parish Council chair said: "People have been amazingly generous with their promises. We have fantastic array of Promises that is going provide some very keen competition.
"Now all we need is a greater array of bidders to buy these promises and although the cause we are supporting is serious, we hope to have some enjoyment on the night while we do our best to help.”
Bidders need to register to bid by emailing name, email and telephone details to alliswell2005@gmail.com and getting a bid number. You can also make a bid and not attend the auction by registering and identifying what you want to bid for and give a maximum bid.
The three village organisations have also put together a working party to explore a village wide hosting of refugees. This will allow people who wish to help to act as a cooperative and provide support for various refugee families.
