A GLASTONBURY pub has opened its doors to guests again following a £260,000 refurbishment that has created 16 jobs.

The Market House, in Magdalene Street, has remained a hub for the community but with a more modern and fresher feel.

The pub has lots of tables providing space for everyone, while the bar has been extended and five television screens have been installed with sports packages including Sky Sports and BT Sports.

There are also six rooms available for visitors to stay in.

The Market House reopens with a brand new menu with plenty of classic pub dishes to choose between and Sunday roasts at the weekend.

Breakfast is served daily, with options including a full English and breakfast wrap.

Food is served from 8am to 9pm daily.

There is also an extensive drinks menu including cocktails and local and regional beers and cask.

General manager Lee Hazell said: “I am so excited about the future of The Market House.

"The team love the pub’s polished new look and can’t wait to show people around every time a new visitor walks in the door.

"The new drinks menu truly has something for everybody.

“It is a new chapter in the storied history of the pub and I cannot wait to see it go from strength to strength.

"We are delighted to welcome guests and the community again.”

Quiz nights are held every Thursday and Sunday followed by an open mic event and jukebox bingo respectively.

The Market House also has DJ nights on Fridays and live music on Saturdays.
