TWO schoolboys were arrested and a third was taken to hospital following a "confrontation" in Taunton yesterday evening (Thursday, March 24).
Police were called to reports of a disturbance involving several teenagers in Dorchester Road near to its junction with Eastwick Road, at around 5pm.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
And a 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of battery.
Another 14-year-old boy was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital by ambulance but has since been allowed home following treatment.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place on the pavement near the Co-op store on the corner of Priorswood Place.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to a confrontation between a number of teenagers in Dorchester Road, Taunton, at about 5pm on Thursday 24 March.
“Officers arrested a 14-year-old on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a 15-year-old on suspicion of battery.
"A third male, who is 14, was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. He has since been discharged.
“Anyone who witnessed what happened is asked to call 101 and give reference number 5222070402 to the call-handler.”
