WESTON-super-Mare's second Burger King restaurant will open its doors to the public for the first time at 11am today (Wednesday, March 30).
The new fast food outlet, located in a former Frankie & Benny's restaurant in Flowerdown Retail Park, has created 28 jobs in the town.
The company also operates a restaurant in Weston-super-Mare's Sovereign Centre.
Burger King will give away 1,000 free Whopper burgers as part of a 'Whopper Wendesday' deal to celebrate the official opening of the new site.
The first-come-first-served deal is available exclusively via click and collect on the Burger King app for today only.
Customers have to tap 'order' on the home screen, search for the new restaurant, and the deal will appear under the 'offers' tab.
They must then click ‘Redeem in Restaurant’ to access the deal.
Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King UK, said: “We know the people of Weston-Super-Mare love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood.
“Our home – of the Whopper! – is their home.”
Delivery via Deliveroo will launch from the new restaurant on Monday, April 4.
The opening of the new Burger King comes just a over month after Tim Hortons opened its first Somerset restaurant and drive-thru opposite a branch of McDonald's in Weston Links.
The Frankie & Benny's store replaced by the new Burger King closed in June 2020.
