A 10-YEAR-OLD has raised almost £1000 so far by cutting off her hair to help children with cancer and raise funds for the research.
Tamzin Ruddy, from Watchet, said “she just wanted to help children in their time of need” when she decided to cut her hair to provide wigs for The Little Princess Trust.
Her mum, Bekkie Dawson, said: “The idea took me by surprise, as she hadn't hinted at any intention of doing it anytime in the past but I'm immensely proud of her, she's just a very kind and thoughtful soul and has a wonderful attitude to life.
“The original goal was £500 but she's raised £330 online and a further £598,50 offline for a grand total of £928,50.”
The Go Fund Me page set up by Tamzin, who attends Danesfield School, is still available for any online donations, https://www.gofundme.com/f/Big-cut?utm_source=facebook
A message from the school read: “Danesfield School are so proud of their pupil, Tammy, who cut off 35 cm of her hair and baked cakes, raising almost £1000 for Little Princess Trust, a charity giving hair and hope to children and young people by providing free real hair wigs and funding vital research into childhood cancers.”
